Valorant is prepping for Season 2025, and a new trailer and developer insight gave fans new info about the upcoming Agent, Tejo, the new Flex system, and potentially a new map.
The next Agent will be an initiator from Colombia named Tejo. A gameplay reveal trailer goes into detail about his abilities.
As an initiator, Tejo’s goal is to help his team get access on to sites. To help with this, his ultimate sends bombs forward into an area — think Breach’s ult, but replace the knockback with bombs.
Tejo can also shoot rockets to a precise location on the map. These are not blocked by terrain and can navigate around structures on their own. He also has a little spybug that he can control into an area, and it gives his team insight into where enemies are.
His last ability launches some sort of debuff in a small area. It’s not clear whether this is weakening enemies or doing damage over time, but it’s another way to create opportunities for his teammates.
Tejo will be released in the first Act of Season 2025, which starts on January 8. Players can check out Tejo’s gameplay reveal trailer below:
That’s not all that’s coming up in 2025, though. A new Flex system is being implemented, allowing players to take an item into the game. This item won’t do anything — it’s purely cosmetic and meant to give players another way to express themselves.
This news came from a short video from Jack Flannery, the Product Lead of Expressions. In the video, several Flexes were discussed. The first two available in the game will be a phone (with a call from Brimstone, a great nod at the lore voicemails on Brimstone’s phone that come with most updates) and a snowflake. The phone will be free, while the snowflake will be part of the paid battle pass rewards.
Others discussed were a block of cheese and a stress ball, though they won’t be available when the Flex system launches.
The Valorant Season 2025 Kickoff Trailer also hints that a new map will be coming. Generally, maps and Agents aren’t released in the same Act, so players can expect it to come later in the Season. However, with the Agents fighting it out on a new map and a description that points out “new locations,” it seems pretty clear that something new is around the corner.
The kickoff trailer has a lot of fun moments for Valorant players, as well as some potential lore for Tejo, and they can view the trailer below:
