The October Train Sim World 7 roadmap includes the Freightliner Class 70, a free Mildmay Line extension, new details on the Amsterdam-Den Haag route, and development updates from several third-party studios working on future content.

All Aboard Studios’ Freightliner Class 70 locomotive add-on will release on October 15, 2026, for $17.99. Paired with Wascosa MLA wagons, the add-on features more than 100 drivable services across multiple routes, eight scenarios, and a new timetable for Skyhook Games’ Midland Mainline route, adding freight operations throughout the network.

The Mildmay Line Richmond Extension, developed by Incredible Trains, is also scheduled to arrive to Train Sim World 7 later in October as a free update for existing add-on owners. Dovetail Games plans to share further details closer to release.

Several other projects are progressing across the Train Sim World 7 development lineup. Train Sim Germany is working on the DB BR 323 Köf II, a compact diesel shunter designed for station and yard operations, which will feature 54 timetable services on the upcoming Neckartalbahn route alongside additional freight workings for the BR 140.

The Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg-Neckarelz route is largely complete, with its timetable finished and remaining work focused on rolling stock and final refinements.

Train Sim Germany is also developing the DB BR 212 V100 for the Niddertalbahn, where it will arrive with n-Wagen passenger coaches and a new timetable. The locomotive will also operate on the Neckartalbahn, with approximately 20 to 30 passenger workings and 10 to 20 freight workings currently planned.

Skyhook Games has revealed two new Cargo Line gameplay packs for Train Sim World 7. Cargo Line Vol. 7: Vans will introduce IZA Twin Vans to the West Coast Main Line route between London Euston and Milton Keynes, bringing the Class 70, Class 90, Class 220 and Class 805 together in an expanded timetable. Cargo Line Vol. 8: Taschenwagen adds Sdgkkmss pocket wagons and dynamic Tanktainer cargo to the Vorarlberg S-Bahn route between Lindau and Bludenz, plus new scenarios and timetable content.

High Iron Simulations is preparing the ATSF Warbonnet GP60M and GP60B locomotive pack, featuring Santa Fe and BNSF liveries and additional gameplay for Cajon Pass. The pack will include BNSF-era timetable services and scenarios, bonus scenarios for the San Bernardino route, and additional Santa Fe-era operations for owners of the studio’s Santa Fe on Cajon gameplay pack.

The developer has also confirmed that Southern Pacific Ore Lines: Hayden Branch has reached the testing and refinement stage, recreating a 20-mile freight route in Arizona with a GP35 locomotive, a caboose, and specialized freight cars used to transport copper ore and finished copper products.

Dovetail Games is continuing development on Amsterdam-Den Haag, its second Dutch route for Train Sim World. The route will travel through Amsterdam and the historic city of Leiden before reaching Den Haag, with a branch line to the coastal town of Zandvoort. Players can operate the NS VIRM double-decker passenger train, and the SNG Sprinter electric multiple unit from Spoorlijn Zwolle-Groningen will also be included.

An upcoming American route for Train Sim World 7, NJ TRANSIT Bergen Line will offer a diesel-powered journey from Hoboken using the GP40PH-2B locomotive and Comet V passenger cars. Dovetail Games says development is progressing, although screenshots have not yet been released.

All Aboard Studios has shared additional details on Birmingham-Shrewsbury, highlighting the Transport for Wales Class 158/8 diesel multiple unit. Built from scratch for the simulator, the train will feature new onboard announcements, recorded audio, train faults, an interactive ERTMS Level 0 display and AI Guard functionality. Two timetables are planned, with services ranging from semi-fast journeys to stopping services and empty coaching stock movements.

Other projects highlighted in the Train Sim World 7 October roadmap include Lisbon-Setúbal from VirtuaVia360, which will become the first Portuguese route in Train Sim World. The developer is finishing the train’s audio and working on world-building and scenario mode, while timetable development is already complete. Just Trains has also reported progress on Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle-Whitehaven, with scenery ready for testing and gameplay nearing completion. The route will feature a BR Green Class 108, freight wagons and a Class 47/0 variant.

Additional projects include Atlantic Coast: Par-Newquay from Brass Can Games, a Great Western Railway Class 387 gameplay pack from Grump Dog Games, ECML: London Kings Cross-Peterborough from Alan Thomson Simulation, and the Class 466 and Sheerness Branch project from Firefly Simulations. RailForge has also confirmed that its upcoming Romanian route will run between Simeria and Săvârșin, marking the country’s first appearance in Train Sim World. Meanwhile, Adamovic Productions is continuing work on the BNSF Snoot Nose SD40-2.

Dovetail Games also outlined several updates planned for Train Sim World 7, as an October 15, 2026 core update will further improve core content, including ICE 4 adjustments based on community feedback, fixes for the GP49PH-3 AI conductor, and scenery updates for Airedale & Wharfedale. Another update planned before the end of October will focus on optimization, targeting locomotives and selected rolling stock, including the Class 66, HST, BR 294, ICE 3, BR 103 and BR 612.

November updates in Train Sim World 7 will address additional community priorities, including player and camera movement, save-game crashes, settings that fail to persist between sessions and further ICE 4 feedback. Performance optimization remains a major focus for the development team, which says it has identified potential memory improvements involving locomotives and is preparing a more detailed explanation of the work.

Dovetail Games is also developing an optional dark mode for the main menu across all platforms following player feedback about the brightness and accessibility of the updated interface. The feature remains in development while the team works to improve text readability and overall visibility.

The roadmap also addresses feedback surrounding the Tadami Line, Train Sim World 7’s first Japanese route. Dovetail Games acknowledged that the release fell short of some players’ expectations and confirmed that it is working with developer Union Workshop to plan improvements. Suspension improvements, rail-singing audio and new engine sounds are already in testing, although a release date for the broader set of changes has not yet been confirmed.

Elsewhere, Dovetail Games has delayed the October Monthly Mastery challenges and aims to release them later this month. The October, November and December challenges will remain active through the end of the year to give players additional time to complete them, while route-specific challenges for new routes are being discontinued in favor of a more seasonal approach.

Finally, the Steam Autumn Sale remains active until October 22, 2026, offering discounts of up to 80% on selected Train Sim World routes and add-ons. Featured deals include the London Overground Suffragette Line, Linke Rheinstrecke, and Canadian National Oakville Subdivision at 80% off, plus first-time discounts on Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg-Ingolstadt and Thames Valley Branches.

Dovetail Games says it will share further details on upcoming routes, locomotives, performance improvements, and other planned features in future roadmaps as development continues.
