Frankfurt Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Released
This one has been in the works for a while, but today Aerosoft has delivered and Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) is finally available on the developer’s own store priced at $30.49 including applicable VAT.
Yep. It isn’t cheap, but this is a really big airport made by some of the best developers in the business. It comes with the following features.
- Includes a highly accurate recreation of Frankfurt Main Airport (EDDF/FRA)
- Accurate models of airport buildings and facilities
- Up to date airport layout (As of September 2024)
- Custom terrain elevation mesh and runway profiles
- Taxiway bridges crossing the autobahn to runway 07L/25R
- Highly realistic night time effects
- Custom aerial image covering the airport boundary and close vicinity
- Custom taxiway signage models
- Accurate taxiway lighting including custom models for various light fixtures
- Stands support AI traffic with airline parking codes
- Includes custom GSX profile
- Various features such as passenger and vehicle density can be adjusted through AS One
- Supports the Aerosoft VDGS module with highly accurate Type1 and TypeX safedock systems
- Dynamic and living airport environment with:
- Interior modeling on areas visible from the airside
- Interior passenger models
- Custom vehicle traffic on the apron area
- Custom traffic on the autobahn
Whiteman Air Force Base Released for Free for Microsoft Flight Simulator
If you want a breather after that $30 bill, here’s a freebie. Top Mach Studios needed a home for its B-2 Spririt, so it commissioned developer WombiiActual to upgrade an existing scenery by NickB portraying Whiteman AFB (KSZL) in Missouri, United States.
It can be downloaded for free at the developer’s site including the following features.
- Accurately modeled hangars with Spirit of X logos on the hangars
- Control tower modeled after Whiteman AFB tower
- Static T-38 models with WM markings
- Upgraded aircraft parking sun shelters
- Full night lighting on hangars and exterior lights
- Parking spots in hangars
- Automated door animations triggered by battery switch and engine on status
- Revised / more accurate taxi lines, signs, and markings
- Additional buildings
- Additional static aircraft models
- Custom pushback tug (modeled after those used at Whiteman)
- Static ground equipment from our B-2 model file placed throughout the scenery
- Various other upgrades and enhancements to the scenery
Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator
We stay in the United States but move back to payware with Fsxcenery’s release of Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois (KMWA).
The airport is available on Simmarket for $16.45.
