Simulation Daily publishes a roundup every day for all the news across the flight simulation field, helping you keep up to date with the ins and outs of the industry. That being said, today’s an exception. Yesterday I was flying back from Poland, and I arrived very late, preventing me from writing the usual news article.

You likely know this doesn’t happen often, so I hope you’ll forgive the lapse. In the meantime, we also published our weekly video recap for last week, so you can check that out to make sure you didn’t miss anything big. It was definitely a big week.

Before we move on with the news, below you can find stories that received their own individual coverage.

Dassault Rafale for MSFS 2024 Reveals Cockpit and Working Terrain-Following Radar

Azurpoly provided an update about its upcoming Dassault Rafale, including the first look at the cockpit.

The big news is that the terrain-following radar is fully functional.

“The system continuously analyzes the terrain several kilometers ahead of the aircraft, within its forward flight path, and automatically adjusts the flight controls to maintain the commanded height above ground. In the screenshot shown here, the autopilot is engaged in terrain-following mode, with a commanded height of 300 feet above ground level and autothrottle enabled. The HUD displays the characteristic “stairs” pattern, representing the terrain profile ahead of the aircraft in real time. This offers a highly immersive experience you will be able to enjoy with our Rafale in Microsoft Flight Simulator, whether flying in any weather conditions or at night, even with no external visibility.”
