According to the announcement made on Steam, a Kickstarter campaign will launch on Q1 2025, but the focus won’t be primarily to focus the game, as much as to create a “big box” collector’s edition reminiscent of what we had in the nineties.

Below you can see a work-in-progress mockup.

At the same time as the Kickstarter campaign, the developers will also launch a demo. The game is already in a playable state and Drydock Dreams Games aims to make the demo as enjoyable as possible.

Interestingly, it’ll include some “prototype” game mode which could be added as stretch goals, in order to gather feedback from their audience.

If you’re unfamiliar with Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles, it’s a strategy simulation game that places the player in command of an American naval task force in the Pacific theater of World War II.

All ships and aircraft are represented in full 3D, and the game is coming for PC, published by MicroProse.

If you’re interested in naval strategy simulation games, MicroProse is also publishing Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age, which is set during the height of the cold war and will release tomorrow (November 12, 2024) in early access exclusively for PC.

We also got a pretty detailed roadmap for the early access phase and beyond, and the game, developed by Triassic Games, certainly looks very promising.
