Today, Bethesda released the latest episode of Starfield: The Settled Systems animated anthology is titled Ab Astris Ad Terram. This is the fifth short in the series and serves as a direct prologue to the Terran Armada DLC.
Starfield Ab Astris Ad Terram showcases the Terran Armada at the peak of its influence as it begins an invasion of the Settled Systems, highlighting their terrifying robotic army, which operates with ruthless coordination and efficiency.
In the trailer, we see the leaders of the Terran Armada testing the limits of their “unification effort,” which includes the kidnapping of a brilliant roboticist. The events depicted lead directly into the opening moments of the Terran Armada story content, and you can check out the full short right down below:
Alongside the story teased above, the DLC will also add new combat features and dynamic events in which the Terran Armada assaults existing Settled Systems locations. These forces are even capable of blocking grav drive jumps, forcing you to use Cruise Mode to reach and disable their jammers.
You also get some new toys to combat the threat, as it adds NASA-tactical grounded military gear and weapons, including a new multi-gun platform (MGP). The Terran Armada DLC launches on April 7, 2026, for $9.99 or free for anyone who got the Premium Edition. It will be available simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam), and PlayStation 5.
The DLC arrives alongside the major Free Lanes update, which is free for all players. Starfield is currently available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, starting at $69.99, with additional DLC, like Shattered Space, available for a seperate charge.
