GSC Game World has revealed the release date for the Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl DLC, Cost of Hope, and Update 2.0.
Stalker 2: Cost of Hope is the first major expansion for the survival FPS, and it’s set to release on August 20, 2026, alongside Update 2.0. The DLC revolves around the conflict between the Duty and Freedom factions as things take a big turn. While tension was high, things have been peaceful up until the events of the DLC.
In Cost of Hope, players will continue following Skif’s story as a random PDA signal alerts him to the trouble brewing between the two factions. Throughout the DLC’s events, players will explore new areas, meet new allies and enemies, and shape the future of the Zone.
At the same time, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will also get its Update 2.0. There aren’t many details available for this quite yet, but fans do know that it will include an upgrade to the latest version of Unreal Engine 5. It will also include more content and game improvements, and it will be free to all players.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s Cost of Hope DLC and Update 2.0 will be available on August 20, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. More news on both the DLC and the update will be available in the future.
