Today, Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games revealed some interesting details and images of the upcoming single-player campaign, Squadron 42.
Shared within the dedicated newsletter sent to backers, we learn that development “continues tracking towards the intended release in 2026.”
On top of that, we get a full map of the game’s main setting, the Odin System, also including details and screenshots of its various locations and points of interest.
Here’s how the system is officially described.
“This white-dwarf-centered system may seem outwardly cold, but its unique spectral anomalies and convenient hauling hubs make it well worth the visit (as long as you’re not expecting a handshake and a cup of cocoa). Discover the once vibrant Fortune’s Cross station, explore the treacherous tunnels of The Coil, and feel the magnetic pull of the system’s glorious auroras.”
You can check out the map below.

You can also download a much higher-resolution version.
Here are the screenshots showcased in the map. Incidentally, it’s quite likely that more information and footage will be shared at the CitizenCon Direct event, which will air on Saturday, October 11, at 8:00 p.m. GMT.

If you’re unfamiliar with Squadron 42, it’s the single-player campaign set in the Star Citizen universe, starring an exceptional cast of famous actors, including Mark Hamill, Henry Cavill, Gary Oldman, Liam Cunningham, Gillian Anderson, and more.
Since the project has been in development for over a decade, you can see how Squadron 42 has evolved since its first reveal.
You can also check out its music, the enemy aliens called Vanduul, and some of its ships.
Star Citizen is a PC exclusive, crowdfunded project directed by Chris Roberts of Wing Commander fame. It’s a multiplayer sandbox space simulator that has been in development for over a decade and in alpha for several years.
It has recently been updated to version Alpha 4.3, which brought plenty of new content.
In the meantime, the crowdfunding total continues to grow, and it has recently passed $862million. To be precise, it’s currently at $862,148,178. The game also has 5,880,170 registered users, albeit not all of them are paying customers. Many simply create an account to enjoy the free-to-play periods.
