Today, Astragon Entertainment rolled out the second major free update for its hit Steam Early Access title, Seafarer: The Ship Sim.
The Seafarer: The Ship Sim Rescue update primarily adds more vessels and missions relevant to search-and-rescue gameplay.
The two new ships available are Salvation, a modern sea rescue cruiser measuring 46 meters (151 ft) in length, and Grace, which is the daughter boat of Salvation. Two additional missions are now available in the Tide Guard career, focusing on safety on the waters of Seafarer: The Ship Sim.
A new vessel editor has also been added, allowing players to customize vessels for the first time and give them a more personal touch, letting you change colors and names, with more options set to be added in the future.
Seafarer: The Ship Sim is one of the most notable nautical simulators in gaming, offering players control over various ships and the opportunity to join a handful of factions. Depending on your choice, you’ll embark on specific missions, like cargo transportation, fire-fighting on open waters, high-stakes rescues, and treasure recovery.
Ships vary from nimble tugboats to massive freighters, each of which is fully interactive and explorable, allowing you to conduct maintenance, operate heavy machinery, and even take control of water cannons to battle onboard fires in some of the more challenging missions that take place in the game.
Seafarer: The Ship Sim is available now on Steam in Early Access for $24.99. Recently, the developers released the Supporter Edition, which features a new ship, drone gameplay, extra clothing options for the player character, and the digital soundtrack.
