Road Studio recently opened its doors to players, inviting them to come to its office and play Road Truckers: New Beginning. There were several features that players were surprised to see, and Road Studio addressed these in a new gameplay video.

One interesting feature is the ability to use phones along routes. There are lines set up where players can call various people, including mechanics and even a random number. Not only does this introduce a quick way for players to get help if they need to refuel or get a tow, but there’s also interesting dialogue — and potentially story-related dialogue — that can be had at these phones.

Another feature players enjoyed was the “deliberately overdone” physics of traffic cones. Despite being fairly heavy in real life, players in Road Truckers: New Beginning can send them flying by walking into them.

Road Studio notes that it may keep these traffic cone physics in the full game just to bring a smile to players’ faces.

Another unique feature of Road Truckers: New Beginning is the driver status condition. As Road Studio pointed out, players are controlling characters, not trucks, so there’s the potential for human afflictions like dizziness, sicknesses, or even just exhaustion.

Other features that players enjoyed included the weather visuals, something Road Studio has discussed in the past, the UI, and even the details in the cities.

Road Studio updated fans on work that still needs to be done, including some bugs like rain inside buildings and missing button prompts. The developing studio is currently working on more optimization, level designs (particularly on the second map), water interactivity, translating the game, and a bit more.

Players can check out the gameplay video below and hear for themselves the feedback that players had:

Road Truckers: New Beginning is set to release in Q2 2026 for PC and PlayStation 5, with an Xbox Series X|S release planned for the future.
