The organizers of the Esports World Cup 2025 announced another game that will be featured in the upcoming event, and it’s Krafton’s PUBG: Battlegrounds.
This means that, perhaps predictably, the Esports World Cup 2025 will feature two PUBG games, the home version and the mobile version, which was announced a few days ago.
The presence of PUBG: Battlegrounds isn’t surprising, considering the game’s lively Esports scene and the fact that it was featured in the 2024 edition as well.
With this announcement, the known lineup is as follows:
- Honor of Kings
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty Warzone
- Free Fire
- Street Fighter 6
- Rainbow Six Siege
- DOTA 2
- Counter-Strike 2
- PUBG Mobile
- Apex Legends
- Overwatch 2
- EA Sports FC 25
- Rocket League
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
- Chess
- Rennsport
That being said, we’re not done, as seven more games remain to be announced. We’ll keep you posted about them when they are revealed. The next game will actually be revealed tomorrow and the last game in the lineup will be revealed on January 8, 2025.
The Esports World Cup 2025 is the second edition of the event, and it’ll be hosted in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, between July and August 2025.
If you’re unfamiliar with PUBG: Battlegrounds, it was originally released in 2017 as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for PC, from the mind of Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene. It’s pretty much responsible for the Battle Royale boom that has taken the world by storm in the following years.
