Today, Siscia Games announced that its highly anticipated simulation title, Pompeii: The Legacy, is set to launch as a fully completed title at the end of March 2026.
Since entering Early Access in September, Pompeii: The Legacy has received a strong reception and positive reviews, prompting them to move forward with the full release. To celebrate the release, the developers are planning a substantial Early Access update that will arrive shortly before the Steam Winter Sale, introducing significant improvements, new gameplay features, expanded story content, visual upgrades, and broad optimisations.
This will be the largest update to the game since its initial release and means to set the foundation for all future development phases. You can check out the official release trailer below:
In Pompeii: The Legacy, players will be able to model and add upon one of the most famous and tragic locations in Italy, as the game places them in the shoes of the head of a Roman family overseeing Pompeii’s reconstruction over several generations. Spanning multiple generations, the strategy title blends city management, narrative storytelling, political decision-making, and survival mechanics, tasking you with rebuilding, expanding, and defending your Roman settlement while navigating family drama, shifting alliances, and the looming threat of natural disasters.
Some of the simulator’s most notable features include:
- Deep production chains and resource management
- A dynamic narrative campaign following one family across decades
- Lawmaking and social policies affecting city growth
- Historically inspired environments and characters
- Long-term generational progression leading toward the eruption of Vesuvius
- Military and diplomatic options, or a pacifist path (Not in EA yet)
Pompeii: The Legacy is currently available on PC (Steam) in Early Access. For more information on this and other unique period-piece city builders like Roman Triumph and Noble Legacy, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
