No Sleep for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files originally released in July 2025 for PC, Nintendo Switch, & Nintendo Switch 2, placing players in the shoes of detective Kaname Date as he tries to rescue the internet idol Iris Sagan. The star claims to have been abducted by aliens and forced to solve escape room puzzles to survive, and it is up to him to help her get out of this wild scenario.

Date uses a process known as Psyncing to enter the dream world of Somnium, where he can extract information to help solve the case. Meanwhile, Iris is allowed by her abductor, a reptilian woman named Akemi, to remain in contact with Date and Aiba, who assist her in solving escape-room puzzles to help her survive.

Gameplay uses both a visual novel format and third-person exploration for dream investigation and the newly introduced escape room puzzle sequences, just like Spike Chunsoft’s most famous series, Zero Escape. You can see the official PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S system trailer for yourself below.

The third entry in the series, it is a spin-off set between the events of AI: The Somnium Files (2019) and AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative (2022). Players who pre-order No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files on PS5 Tote will get a Bag Bundle ($64.99), which includes a physical edition for PS5 and a tote bag.
