Tonight Honey Parade Games announced that a new Senran Kagura game code named “Project N” is coming.
The announcement was made during a livestream from Japan, and we learn that “Project N” is just a working title, so the final one is likely to be different.
It has already been confirmed that it’ll be a mobile game, as Marvelous Entertainment appears to be still stubbornly refusing to bring the franchise back to consoles.
It’ll be set in the same continuity as the current mobile game Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link, and specifically three years in the future. We also know that the character design will still be by the series’ traditional artist Nan Yaegashi.
The new title will release some time in 2026 and new information will be shared “when the weather gets warmer next year.”
The only additional information that was provided is that it’ll feature new shinobi girls and a new school, but Gekkou and Senkou from New Link will also appear.
The presenters even refused to confirm whether the girl who appears in the teaser video (which you can see below) is the protagonist or not. Her name is also a secret.
A glimpse of the world of the game was provided with the cutscene that you can enjoy below, featuring Gekkou and Senkou three years after the events of Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link.
I suppose another mobile Senran Kagura is certanly better than no Senran Kagura at all, and Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link (alongside Honey Parade’s new IP Dolphin Wave) has been a pillar of Marvelous’ financial performance for years, motigating the poor performance of many other titles.
We’ll have to wait for more information, so we’ll keep you posted when Honey Parade Games fully unveils the title.
