Today Motorsport Games announced that all of its Nascar games will be delisted from digital storefronts on December 31, 2024.

According to the announcement, this includes the games that were absorbed under Motorsport Games’ umbrella from 704 Games, spanning franchises like Nascar Heat, Nascar Rivals, and Nascar Ignition.

704 Games and Motorsport Games pretty much controlled the video gaming side of the Nascar franchise since 2016 with the launch of NASCAR Heat Evolution.

This is likely related to the exclusive acquisition of the license for simulation-style Nascar console racing games by iRacing from Motorsport Games itself.

iRacing will publish Nascar 25 in the fall of next year for PC, PS5, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly, the game will still be developed in collaboration with Monster Games, which developed the majority of the previous Nascar games in the last decade or so.

Of course, if you have already purchased the games, you’ll still be able to download and play them. They won’t be removed from your libraries.

Motorsport Games is also planning to host some sales and promotions in December so that you’ll have one last chance to purchase its games or complete your collection of Nascar games before they go the way of the dodo.

If you’re unfamiliar with iRacing, it’s mostly known for its subscription-based online racing simulation platform on PC that originally debuted in 2008 and is considered by many one of the most realistic in the industry. It’s also used by many professional racing drivers to train on its LIDAR-scanned tracks that precisely reproduce their real counterparts.

Not only does it simulate real-world driving as closely as possible, but racing is strictly regulated closely mimicking real motorsports to create a racing environment that is as professional as possible.

iRacing is partnered with several real-world racing series and organizations including NASCAR, IMSA, the FIA, and many more, and it’s also one of the most respected and prestigious esports environments for racing simulation enthusiasts.
