The previously teased Rowing Mode is here, marking the start of the long-term plan for MyWhoosh to expand to multiple sports. The free-to-use rowing experience lets players explore MyWhoosh’s rowing world, which is based on Lake Bled in Slovenia.

Rowing Mode supports Concept2 rowers with update 5.6, and support for other rowers is planned for future updates. In the future, the Rowing Mode in MyWhoosh will also include rowing workouts, competitive racing, and performance metrics.

Matt Smithson, Director of Esports and Game Operations at MyWhoosh, shared thoughts on the addition of the Rowing Mode:

“The introduction of Rowing Mode is a major step in our long-term vision for MyWhoosh. Our goal is to remove barriers between disciplines and give athletes one platform where they can train seriously, whether they’re cyclists, runners, or now rowers. This is about building a truly multi-sport ecosystem, not just adding features.”

A look at the new Rowing Mode can be seen in the screenshots below:

MyWhoosh Update 5.6 also brought a new Custom Workout Builder for running. Runners will be able to design interval-based running workouts that include things like pacing strategies and intensity targets.

This gives runners the ability to tailor MyWhoosh to their own needs, whether that’s training for a competition or improving their own endurance. This also came with an improved in-game look at workout structures.

The 5.6 update will also include better Fair Play measures for some events. This is meant to make sure that competition results are accurate. These measures include required active heart rate monitoring and a brief reconnection window if participants lose signal.

Additionally, events can set their own policies along with these rules.

Users may notice that their avatars were reset. In this case, all players have to do is reselect their chosen avatar in the Garage.
