Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Gets Major Sim Update 16 With Plenty of Improvements

Microsoft Flight Simulator - Cessna Citation Longitude

While Microsoft and Asobo’s main focus has shifted to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, this doesn’t mean they have forgotten those who have opted to stick with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and they proved it once again today with the release of Sim Update 16.

The update comes with plenty of highly anticipated improvements, including memory management on Xbox Series X|S to improve stability on consoles.

The world also received a significant facelift with Bing aerials updated to match what has been implemented in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Among aircraft, the Cessna Citation Longitude got most of the love, but basically every aircraft that uses avionics suites like the Garmin G3000 / G5000, the Garmin G3X Touch, the GNS 430/GNS 530, the Primus Epic 2.0, the UNS-1Ew SBAS, and more, indirectly received benefits due to extensive upgrades.

You can check out the full patch notes on the official website.

It’s worth mentioning that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users are still waiting for Sim Update 3, which has been in beta for a while. It was expected for the end of July, but the developers decided that it needed some more time in the oven.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
