Today multiple developers have showcased more of the aircraft that will be available in the various editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Microsoft and Asobo collaborated with several third-party developers to create the massive aircraft lineup included in the three editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Today we hear from two of them.
We start with developer Michael Johnson who began by showing off the Grumman HU-16 Albatross seaplane which will be included in the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe Editions of the simulator.
Johnson walks us through the startup sequence and showcases both the interior and exterior of this historical aircraft. You can watch it below.
We get to see take-off from a runway and a landing on water, which is certainly nice since the physics of the water has been updated from the original Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Next, we take a look at the refurbished civilian version, the Grumman G-111 Albatross, which has a completely different cockpit and cabin. You can watch it below.
We then move on to iniBuilds, which started by showcasing the Airbus A330, which is included in all editions. Today we get to see the version with the Rolls Royce engine, but the family in the simulator will include the -200 and -300 variants with the General Electric and Rolls Royce engine options (the Pratt & Whitney engines aren’t planned), on top of the P2F (Passenger to Freighter conversion) and the Beluga XL.
Interestingly, we also get to see the brand-new walkaround mode before a startup sequence on the flight deck (with a sneak peek at the cabin). Interestingly, the secondary flight plan works.
Funnily, we also get to see what happens when you take off with the pitot tube cover on. Basically, you won’t have any airspeed indication. You can watch it below.
The next aircraft showcased is the Airbus A321LR, which is also included in all editions. We get to see the flight deck (including the new radio unit) and the cabin, on top of the exterior model. The nose and wings have been completely remodeled compared to the A320 included in the original MSFS.
You can watch it below.
Next on the menu is the Airbus A400M Atlas (included in the Premium Deluxe Edition only), starting with the flight deck of this military cargo aircraft. Not everything is implemented to the same level of other Airbus aircraft in the simulator, simply because this is a military aircraft and there are certain details that are restricted.
We also get to see a take-off and the cabin, and you can watch it yourself below.
Last on the menu is the Airbus A330-743L Beluga XL (included in all editions), of which we take a look at the flight deck and exterior, on top of the loading process of two Airbus A320 front fuselage sections.
You can watch it below.
We also hear that the Airbus A310 has been redone and updated to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 standard.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released on November 18 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. You can enjoy our hands-on preview with plenty of interesting details for your perusal.
You can also watch our interview with Head of MSFS Jorg Neumann and Asobo CEO Sebastian Wloch, another with Asobo CCO David Dedeine, and one featuring Chris Burnett of Working Title and Brandon Yaeger of Got Friends about their work on MSFS 2024.
Last, but not least, you can take a look at our A-10 flight through the Grand Canyon, our first look at the extensive pilot customization, another at the first mission of the Career Mode, a video featuring the new walk-around move showing off a Boeing 737 MAX up close and personal, and a challenge with the A-10 over the Blue Ridge Mountains.
