Today, Slavic Magic moved Manor Lords Major Update 6 from the beta branch to the main branch, transitioning significant experimental features that focus on military depth, settlement progression, and environmental variety.
First, tactical combat now features advanced behaviors, including the ability to climb ladders, assume proper positioning on defensive walls, and convert manors into Stone Castles, allowing soldiers to be placed directly on walls for defense. AI battlefield logic has improved considerably to better interact with players during combat, particularly focusing on how AI lords manage their own military maneuvers.
Speaking of the battlefield, visibility and proximity have been tweaked. All squads inside an active Battlefield are now always visible, and, after a battle starts, the area around the Battlefield where units are counted as participating gradually shrinks.
Manor Lords Major Update 6 also introduces a brand new map. Twin Lakes is a handmade map featuring two large lakes and a coastline suitable for city building, including unique resource spots such as rich stone, rich clay, and mushrooms, though it may lack certain traditional food sources, forcing reliance on fishing, as well as other map variations, like cool rocky cliff spots and sheer mountainsides that impact building and travel spread throughout its terrain.
Family Based Progression and the economy are also a focal point of Manor Lords Major Update 6. Settlement Level progress now checks for Families of a certain level to be living in the region, rather than Burgage Plots of a certain level to be built, while the Burgage Plot Upgrade: “Expansion” now gives +1 Living Space to the Plot regardless of Level.
Burgage Plot is now introduced as Level 3, complete with new models, requirements, and effects. The order has been rearranged, moving the previous Burgage Plot Level 3 aesthetic to Level 4 and updating therequirements and effects. Lastly, the Cobbler and Baker extension now requires the Plot to be Level 3 to unlock.
There are plenty of other minor changes that have been added alongside the patch, ranging from quality-of-life improvements like UI and text spacing and location, all of which you can see via the official patch notes here.
Manor Lords has been a considerable success since its launch in 2024, crossing a couple of impressive thresholds: a million copies sold just 48 hours after its early access release, and a second million just three weeks later. Momentum has continued to build since then, as the medieval city-builder crossed the 3 million sold mark back in February 2025.
Manor Lords is currently available in early access for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for $39.99.
