X-Plane 12 developer Laminar Research revealed the roadmap for the next four updates up to version 12.5.0.
Following the release of version 12.4.1, Laminar Research announced the content of the next four updates, including three minor ones and a major one.
Updates 12.4.2, 12.4.3, and 12.4.4 will be minor ones, while 12.5.0 will be the next major update.
12.4.2 will be a QA update with bug fixes.
12.4.3 will be the VR update with the introduction of Apple Vision Pro support via CloudXR, on top of select mixed reality headsets, and more, including a complete rewrite of the VR system.
12.4.4 will be another QA update with bug fixes.
12.5.0 will be the Flight Model Update, including improvements to the helicopter flight model and gusting wind changes. Third-party developers will get access to ImGUI for UI development, while a new enhanced airport “somewhere in the Western part of the world.”
Further in the future, the development team is working mainly on “next-gen scenery,” which is expected to take a long time.


X-Plane 12 is currently available for PC (including Mac and Linux).
