Last week, some changes to the ERL were already announced. These mostly dealt with how tournaments run and small rules about how teams work. Now, Riot has announced the changes coming to the ERL and EM that deal with scheduling and formats.

To start with, there will be three splits and a season finale for each ERL. This will make the Tier 2 splits match the League of Legends ranked seasons. The addition of a third split means that ERL teams have an additional way to get to EM.

These split formats will vary from league to league, letting each region design formats that fit their community.

Additionally, EM is going to include three events in 2025. More news on what these events are and when they’ll be held will come later.

One of the most exciting changes is that the Fearless Draft is coming to League of Legends EMEA ERLs and EM in 2025. The Fearless Draft has been rolling out in Tier 1 LoL esports, and fans have enjoyed it.

The Fearless Draft basically means that once a Champion is selected, it can’t be played again in that series. This forces players to play from a wider pool and shakes up the competition a bit, making it more entertaining for most viewers.

early split schedule for LoL ERL and EM 2025

The schedule for ERL and EM has been adjusted a bit to help slow things down. The Winter Split will go from January 13 to March 9 for ERL and March 17 to March 23 for EM. The Spring Split will go from March 24 to May 30 for ERL and June 3 to June 21 for EM. The Summer Split dates will be released in the future.

The EMEA LEC is also getting changes, which fans can check out here.
