League of Legends 2024 World Championships September 25-29 Play-Ins Roundup

The Play-Ins week of the League of Legends 2024 World Championships has finished – here’s a roundup of the intense games.

The first week of Play-Ins had two matches each day, with both being best-of-three games. Four teams moved to compete on the Worlds stage, which will start kicking off again later this week on October 3. 

Wednesday, September 25 was the first day of League of Legends Worlds Play-Ins. Mad Lions KOI and Vikings Esports kicked things off, with game one going to MDK:

  • K’Sante (MDK Myrwn) vs Camille (VKE Nanaue)
  • Nidalee (MDK Elyoya) vs Lee Sin (VKE Gury)
  • Syndra (MDK Fresskowy) vs Orianna (VKE Kati)
  • Jinx (MDK Supa) vs Ezreal (VKE Shogun)
  • Nautilus (MDK Alvaro) vs Poppy (VKE Bie)

Game two looked similar, and MDK ultimately took the match:

  • K’Sante (MDK Myrwn) vs Renekton (VKE Nanaue)
  • Nidalee (MDK Elyoya) vs Jarvan IV (VKE Gury)
  • Syndra (MDK Fresskowy) vs Orianna (VKE Kati)
  • Jinx (MDK Supa) vs Jhin (VKE Shogun)
  • Rell (MDK Alvaro) vs Alistar (VKE Bie)

The second game that day was between PSG Talon and paiN Gaming. Game one went to PNG:

  • Rumble (PSG Azhi) vs Jax (PNG Wizer)
  • Skarner (PSG JunJia) vs Sejuani (PNG CarioK)
  • Tristana (PSG Maple) vs Yone (PNG dyNquedo)
  • Miss Fortune (PSG Betty) vs Lucian (PNG TitaN)
  • Rell (PSG Woody) vs Nami (PNG Kuri)

Game two looked different for both teams, and PSG came out on top:

  • Gnar (PSG Azhi) vs Rumble (PNG Wizer)
  • Skarner (PSG JunJia) vs Vi (PNG CarioK)
  • Akali (PSG Maple) vs Yone (PNG dyNquedo)
  • Jhin (PSG Betty) vs Ezreal (PNG TitaN)
  • Rell (PSG Woody) vs Braum (PNG Kuri)

The intense fight for game three went to PSG, giving them the match:

  • Vayne (PSG Azhi) vs Gnar (PNG Wizer)
  • Wukong (PSG JunJia) vs Lee Sin (PNG CarioK)
  • Akali (PSG Maple) vs Syndra (PNG dyNquedo)
  • Jhin (PSG Betty) vs Ashe (PNG TitaN)
  • Leaona (PSG Woody) vs Alistar (PNG Kuri)

Thursday, September 26 started day two with a match between GAM Esports and Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming. The first game went to GAM:

  • Aurora (GAM Kiaya) vs Rumble (SHG Evi)
  • Shyvana (GAM Levi) vs Jarvan IV (SHG Forest)
  • Tristana (GAM Emo) vs Lucian (SHG DasheR)
  • Jhin (GAM Easylove) vs Ziggs (SHG Marble)
  • Poppy (GAM Elio) vs Rell (SHG Vsta)

Game two also went in GAM’s favor, winning them the match:

  • Aurora (GAM Kiaya) vs Rumble (SHG Evi)
  • Wukong (GAM Levi) vs Lee Sin (SHG Forest)
  • Yone (GAM Emo) vs LeBlanc (SHG DasheR)
  • Jhin (GAM Easylove) vs Ashe (SHG Marble)
  • Leona (GAM Elio) vs Poppy (SHG Vsta)

The second match of the day was between 100 Thieves and Movistar R7. Game one went to 100 Thieves:

  • K’Sante (100 Sniper) vs Jax (R7 Summit)
  • Jarvan IV (100 River) vs Brand (R7 Oddie)
  • Hwei (100 Quid) vs Tristana (R7 Keine)
  • Jhin (100 Tomo) vs Draven (R7 Ceo)
  • Leona (100 Eyla) vs Rell (R7 Lyonz)

However, R7 was able to turn the tide and win game two:

  • K’Sante (100 Sniper) vs Renekton (R7 Summit)
  • Wukong (100 River) vs Nocturne (R7 Oddie)
  • Aurora (100 Quid) vs Orianna (R7 Keine)
  • Lucian (100 Tomo) vs Ezreal (R7 Ceo)
  • Nami (100 Eyla) vs Nautilus (R7 Lyonz)

The third game also went to R7, securing them the match:

  • K’Sante (100 Sniper) vs Renekton (R7 Summit)
  • Viego (100 River) vs Wukong (R7 Oddie)
  • Vex (100 Quid) vs LeBlanc (R7 Keine)
  • Jinx (100 Tomo) vs Lucian (R7 Ceo)
  • Nautilus (100 Eyla) vs Nami (R7 Lyonz)

Friday, September 27 kicked off with a match between Mad Lions KOI and PSG Talon. The first game went to MDK:

  • Camile (MDK Myrwn) vs Udyr (PSG Azhi)
  • Skarner (MDK Elyoya) vs Wukong (PSG JunJia)
  • Renekton (MDK Fresskowy) vs Akali (PSG Maple)
  • Ziggs (MDK Supa) vs Ashe (PSG Betty)

PSG flipped the script and won game two:

  • Renekton (MDK Myrwn) vs Gnar (PSG Azhi)
  • Viego (MDK Elyoya) vs Vi (PSG JunJia)
  • Syndra (MDK Fresskowy) vs Maple (PSG Maple)
  • Ezreal (MDK Supa) vs Miss Fortune (PSG Betty)

MDK came back and won game three, securing the match:

  • Aurora (MDK Myrwn) vs Corki (PSG Azhi)
  • Jarvan IV (MDK Elyoya) vs Skarner (PSG JunJia)

Game two also went to PNG, securing the match for the team:

Sunday, September 29 ended the first week of League of Legends 2-24 World Championships Play-Ins. The first match was between paiN Gaming and Movistar R7, where R7 won game one:

  • Jax (PNG Wizer) vs K’Sante (R7 Summit)
  • Maokai (PNG CarioK) vs Poppy (R7 Oddie)
  • Ahri (PNG dyNquedo) vs Syndra (R7 Keine)
  • Lucian (PNG TitaN) vs Xayah (R7 Ceo)
  • Nami (PNG Kuri) vs Rakan (R7 Lyonz)

PNG turned things around in game two, taking the win:

  • Jax (PNG Wizer) vs K’Sante (R7 Summit)
  • Sejuani (PNG CarioK) vs Poppy (R7 Oddie)
  • Ahri (PNG dyNquedo) vs Hwei (R7 Keine)
  • Lucian (PNG TitaN) vs Xayah (R7 Ceo)

  • Ezreal (PSG Betty) vs Ziggs (100 Tomo)
  • Alistar (PSG Woody) vs Rell (100 Eyla)
