Japanese developer Technobrain announced a new DLC expansion coming to the Steam version of its ATC simulator, I am an Air Traffic Controller 4.
The DLC adds another major Japanese airport to the English version of the game (which is by default based at Tokyo Haneda), and it’s RJAA, Narita International Airport, serving as the traditional international hub of the Tokyo area.
The expansion includes a variety of scenarios largely underpinned by the fact that Narita is huge, so it takes some time for aircraft to taxi between the two runways and the gates and stands.
You’ll get to deal with bad weather, animal incursions, and the requirement to ensure greater separation for large airliners and cargo aircraft.
Below you can enjoy a series of screenshots, and you can also check out the Steam page.

Below, you can also take a look at a trailer, but keep in mind that it’s for the Japanese version of the game that isn’t available on Steam. The main difference, besides the language, is that, unfortunately, the English version replaces real-world airlines with fictional ones.
If you’re unfamiliar with I am an Air Traffic Controller (also known as “Bokukan” in Japan), it’s a long-running series of Air Traffic Controller simulators that debuted all the way back in 1998.
The fourth chapter is the first to receive an official localization in English and a release on Steam, albeit it’s a bit behind in content compared to the Japanese version.
It also serves as the base of the Airport Hero series on consoles. Technobrain also recently released a cuter, more casual Airport management minigame titled Pocket and Zooom.
If you’re into flight simulation, the name Technobrain may also ring a bell. The company is well-known for its excellent airports for flight sims. They semi-recently released Yao and Osaka Kansai for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and they’re currently working on Tokyo Haneda.
