Today, Hooded Horse, Unfrozen Studio, and Ubisoft announced that Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will release on Steam Early Access and PC Game Pass day one on April 30, 2026.
The release of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era marks the first new Heroes game in over ten years. The original series was a staple of the strategy genre, with a heavy focus on empire building, epic turn-based tactical battles, and exploration.
The next installment plans to build on the foundation laid by the original for veterans while also welcoming newcomers. You can see a sneak peek at what the title will look like in the release date trailer below:
It will also introduce new and classic game modes that will let people play solo or with friends to conquer both procedurally generated and hand-crafted maps, raise magnificent cities, and field massive armies of mythical creatures to vanquish enemies across the narrative campaign.
Each in-game faction will also feature its own distinct units. These range from armies of deadly but fragile vampires and liches, able to sap the enemy’s strength with every strike and drain life to raise fallen warriors, to noble griffins and their ability to counterattack multiple times, or honorable knights that lead devastating charges.
Players will use varied active and passive abilities to teleport troops further than their movement range would typically allow, summon additional forces to the field, hamper their opponent’s ability to cast spells or use abilities of their own, or otherwise turn the tide of battle.

Modes include Single Hero, Classic Skirmish, Arena, premade scenarios, and multiplayer. Players will notice a range of modernized, in-depth RPG mechanics and updates to each, all while exploring a vibrant, never-before-seen land full of secrets and dangers.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will be localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
