The Front Mission 3: Remake is finally coming to PC and the remaining consoles, and the wait won’t be long.
If you’re among the many weirded out by ForeverEntertainment’s obstinacy in releasing the Front Mission remakes as temporary exclusives on Switch first, things are finally going to be made right soon.
Following the launch on Nintendo’s aging console back in June 2026, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One are going to get the remake of Square Enix’s mecha classic as well. It’ll arrive on January 30.
The PC version is coming on Steam and GoG.
Further good news is the availability of a demo on all platforms starting today, so you can already get a taste of the game.
You can find an announcement trailer and plenty of gameplay of the demo below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Front Mission 3, it’s the third chapter of the unfortunately dormant mecha saga that came from the mind of Toshiro Tsuchida in 1995 under the umbrella of the then Square, way before it merged with Enix.
Front Mission 3 came out in 1999 for the original PlayStation. The series continued for several years until Square Enix obliterated its legacy with Front Mission Evolved and then applied the finishing blow with Left Alive, which was a game that I desperately wanted to love, but ended up being literally everything the fans never asked for.
It’s perhaps not surprising that its remakes aren’t even published by Square Enix nowadays. I’d be ashamed too.
If you’re interested in more mecha games, you can check out Muv-Luv Tactics: Nightmare of Kalidasa,  Mecha Knights: Nightmare 2, and Omega Phenex: Commenced Project Six.
