Today, during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Epic Games announced the next seasonal content coming to Fortnite, the Star Wars-inspired Galactic Battle.
The season will start on May 2 and will feature five chapters, starting with “Imperial Takeover.”
“The Pull of the Force” will follow on May 8, “Mandalorian Rising” will start on May 22, “Star Destroyer Bombardment” will happen on May 29, and “Death Star Sabotage” will begin on June 7.
Of course, there will be Star Wars-themed skins and a battle pass, including the appearance of a popular meme, Darth Jar Jar. Sheev Palpatine will also be included on top of Padawan and Apprentice Evie, and Wookie Cuddle Team Leader.
Apparently, players will also be able to pilot X-Wing and Tie-Fighter fighters. The season will culminate in a narrative event, which is likely to be rather epic.
Below you can check out a trailer and get a glimpse of what the season will offer in terms of gameplay and skins. Darth Jar Jar certainly wasn’t on our Bing card for anything official, but there he is. Fortnite can turn even memes into reality.
If you’re unfamiliar with Fortnite, it started as a Battle Royale game with building elements, and it’s currently available on all platforms besides iOS outside of Europe.
It has been undergoing a radical evolution from a single game to a Metaverse, with several other experiences like Lego Fortnite Odyssey, Fortnite Festival, and more, on top of user-created islands created by players and even institutions.
