Today, Type-Moon announced during a stage event at FGO Fes 2025 in Japan that the remaster of the Fate/Stay night sequel Fate/hollow ataraxia has a release date.
The announcement came quite timely, exactly a year since the reveal that the beloved visual novel was getting a remaster, and it’s coming really soon.
It’ll be released on August 7, 2025 for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
The announcement was accompanied with a trailer, which you can enjoy below.
We also get a second trailer showing off the new minigame that you’ll unlock by progressing through the story.
If you’re wondering, the game’s text will be fully localized in English (alongside the original Japanese and traditional Chinese), while the voice overs will be exclusively in Japanese.
As a further treat, we also get a new key visual drawn by Fate maestro Takashi Takeuchi himself.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Fate series, it originally debuted in 2004 with Fate/stay night, and it has been Type-Moon’s household name for two decades.
While the original was an adult game, the franchise has since shifted to an all-ages target. This is quite common among Japanese franchises that started as eroge, especially when releasing on consoles or getting anime adaptations.
Its popularity has grown exponentially over the years, culminating with the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, which still enjoys a massive audience in Japan and worldwide. Incidentally, today’s reveal was made at the annual convention dedicated to FGO in Japan.
Speaking of the franchise, we’re also waiting to hear more of the Fate/Extra remake Fate/Extra Record, which has recently been delayed to spring 2026.
If you’re interested in more visual novel news, Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv alternative have just received the long-promised Android port, and will come soon to iOS.
