The Nordic Horizons DLC is coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2, and SCS Software revealed one of the cities featured in it: Rovaniemi.
Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in Northern Finland, has a lot to offer virtual visitors in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The city is known around the world as the hometown of Santa Claus.
The most common way into the city is through E75, and it crosses over two major rivers. The Ounasjoki River and the Kemijoki River provide beautiful sights leading into the city.
Once in the city, drivers can see major attractions like Santa Claus Village. This is a Christmas attraction for the family that’s open all year. There’s also the Arktikum Science Centre and Museum, which is well-known for its displays and outdoor, nature sights.
Speaking of nature, Rovaniemi is one of the areas around the world that goes through the Midnight Sun. The Midnight Sun (or polar day or nightless night) is a period between June and July. The sun never sets during these months because of the way the Earth is tilted toward the sun. It happens in areas north of the Arctic Circle. Players will be able to experience this no matter where they are around the world in real life.
The southern areas of Rovaniemi will have unique job contracts, which developers will share more about in the future. SCS Software shared several screenshots of Rovaniemi.
There’s no release date scheduled for the Nordic Horizons DLC, but SCS Software said that it plans to share more info about the DLC in the near future.
