Today, Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive announced that the Cities: Skylines 2 Bridges and Ports DLC release would be delayed yet again, this time to Q4 of 2025.
According to an address on Steam, developers and the testing group felt like the DLC wasn’t polished enough. While the bridges and ports themselves functioned correctly, there were other parts of the DLC that weren’t up to standards.
The team stood by the idea that the DLC is still very enjoyable in its current state. However, the added time gives developers a chance to add more depth.
Despite this, the free update for Cities: Skylines 2 that was supposed to release alongside the Bridges and Ports DLC before it was delayed will be released on June 11. This will introduce a “sneak peek” at the content coming in the Bridges and Ports DLC.
Full patch notes will be revealed when the update is released. Until then, Paradox Interactive did give fans a brief look at what’s coming.
There will be two new bridges, three leisure piers, and three quays in the Cities: Skylines 2 free update.
The new bridges will include a four-lane highway with a double train track and a double-decked extradosed bridge. The second will be a double-train-track truss arch bridge.
The leisure piers are assets are created with net tools, and there will be industrial piers as well. Quays are the “bridges” between piers and land. They’re meant to connect piers with land, and buildings can snap onto them when the zoning grid is up.
Cities: Skylines 2 has had plenty of DLC and free content releases recently, especially considering it came out in 2023. Lately, it received several new content pieces with the series’ anniversary, and the free USA Northeast region pack, as well.
