CD Projekt announced its financial results for calendar year 2025, and they’re definitely strong, while the company looks to its future with a new IP and considerable investment in the development of The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.
Accoording to the official documents, sales for the year were 867 million PLN, up 9% year-on-year.
Net profit for continuing activities (which excludes GoG.com, since it has been sold) was 521 million PLN, up 18% year-on-year, marking the second-best in the developer’s history, following the year of Cyberpunk 2077’s launch. The profitability margin is a rather mindboggling 60%.
Counting GoG.com, net profit was 595 PLN.
We also hear that the studio invested over 513 million PLN in its future games, mostly in the development of of The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. This means that the studio basically reallocated its whole profit margin to finance its future titles. There are also “several” unannounced projects.
Speaking of the future, we hear that CD Projekt RED has moved to the concept phase of its new IP, code-named “Hadar.” We hear that the foundations of the IP have been set, and the focus has shifted to the game itself.
Said foundations may apply not just to the game, but also to other future products. The team is now actively designing specific elements that may be included in the game and multiple prototypes are being created and implemented directly in Unreal Engine 5, allowing them to be live tested.
In the infographic below you can see that the number of employees at CD Projekt has been increasing steadily, to 933 as of February 28, with The Witcher 4 getting the lion’s share of the increase. 499 developers are now working on it, while 149 are working on Cyberpunk 2.
