Capcom announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year 2025, which relates to the period between April and December.

According to the quarterly documents, sales for the whole company were 115,315 million yen (up 29.8% year-on-year), while operating profit was 54,302 million yen (up 75.1% year-on-year).

If we look specifically at the Digital Contents Business, which focuses on video games, net sales were 73,411 million yen (up 25.4% year-on-year), and operating profit was 46,067 million yen (up 57.5% year-on-year).

Total video game unit sales were 34.64 million units, way beyond the 30.53 million units shipped during the same period in the previous year.

In terms of catalogue sales (games released before this fiscal year), which are historically a strong field for Capcom, they were 33.39 million units, exceeding the 28.61 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The company has not changed its ambitious full-year forecast, which expects 190,000 million yen in net sales and 73,000 million yen in operating profit, both of which would mark significant growth from the previous year.

Considering that Resident Evil Requiem releases before the end of the fiscal year, achieving that result certainly doesn’t seem impossible.

It’d mark the ninth consecutive year of growth in all earnings categories, which certainly isn’t a result many video game publishers can boast of.

If you’d like to compare these results with historical data, you can read our report about the previous quarter, based on data released in October.

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo. You can expect plenty more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
