Supernova Games has released Update 0.5 for Assetto Corsa Rally, adding the first iteration of multiplayer, two new Greek rally courses, and an overhaul of the physics system.
Assetto Corsa Rally players can now compete in online multiplayer races with Update 0.5. These are single-stage events with up to 16 players. The host will have control over the weather, car restrictions, and can even set parameters for real-time spectating. Multiplayer will also have ACR lobbies managed by developers, which will guarantee that there are always open lobbies to join. More information on ACR lobbies can be found here in the patch notes for Assetto Corsa Rally Update 0.5.
Multiplayer will have a rotating calendar of events, which includes two standard weekly events and one premium event that’s held on the weekend (Friday to Sunday).
Update 0.5 adds two new special stages in Greece: The Loutraki Special Stage and the Elatioa Special Stage. Both of these stages have been used in the World Rally Championship, and they both offer unique challenges that test players’ concentration and control.
Last but not least for Assetto Corsa Rally Update 0.5 is the new physics system. This revolves around a new tire model that changes how tires interact with various surfaces, but it also includes an updated load sensitivity formula, new camber properties, and global tuning to all cars to adjust to the new systems.
Smaller changes were also part of the update, such as more realistic cockpit vibrations, bugs, and new partners to the drivers’ profile selections.
