Today, HoYoverse announced that Genshin Impact Version 7.2 “Hour of Ruin” will launch on November 4, 2026.

Genshin Impact Version 7.2 will continue the game’s ongoing story as the Nails of Retribution threaten civilizations across Teyvat, prompting representatives from all seven nations to answer the Tsaritsa’s call and gather in Snezhnaya to coordinate their response to the growing crisis. It will also introduce a new explorable region in eastern Snezhnaya, alongside two playable characters, additional story quests, limited-time events, and new activities.

Players will also experience further developments in the game’s Stellar-Conduct combat mechanics, with new characters Mitya and Valeriy adding options for teams built around these reactions. The latest Archon Quest will bring together the seven nations of Teyvat as they attempt to prevent a catastrophe known as the Holy Soil phenomenon.

As energy fluctuations from the Nails of Retribution intensify, mysterious pillars of light appear worldwide, triggering severe crises in each nation and prompting players to work alongside the Archons, Neuvillette, and other familiar allies to contain the threat. Completing the Archon Quest during the designated period rewards players with 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya, while completing the latest Secret Tsarist Assignments provides additional rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

Eastern Snezhnaya will expand the game’s explorable world with several new locations, including Novokitezhgrad, the nation’s main producer of Kresnik Kristall. Built entirely underground and encased in the mineral, the city offers a striking contrast to the snow-covered landscape above. Players can also travel east to Wingspan Peak, a massive formation resembling a giant wing, where they will discover Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar.

Exploration will also involve confronting the Holy Soil phenomenon Ronova unleashed. Players will use new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns to neutralize hazards associated with contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits while uncovering more of Snezhnaya’s history.

New Meeting Point quests will follow Danica on a secret cleanup assignment for the Tsaritsa in Novokitezhgrad, while Mitya investigates the soil near Teplo Oasis. Their separate investigations will eventually bring them together, and a colossal creature from the ocean depths will give players in Novokitezhgrad another challenge.

Mitya will join the playable roster as a five-star Electro Catalyst user. An optimistic scientist known for his willingness to challenge the Heavenly Principles, he can convert the party’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions, increasing the team’s Stellar-Conduct damage while building up a special energy resource.

His Elemental Skill can release the accumulated energy to deal periodic Stellar-Conduct damage to nearby enemies or consume it to unleash a rapid series of enhanced Charged Attacks, allowing him to contribute both on and off the field. His Elemental Burst deals area-of-effect Electro damage and generates additional energy to support his combat rotations. In certain areas of Snezhnaya, his detection device can also reveal hidden paths and unlock a reward that changes his appearance.

Valeriy will join him as a four-star Electro Sword user in Genshin Impact Version 7.2. As a disciplined Major of the Armory Palace, Valeriy specializes in providing shields and boosting Electro damage, making him a useful addition to teams focused on Stellar-Conduct reactions.

The first phase of the Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Event Wishes will debut Mitya and Valeriy alongside a rerun of Furina. The second phase will bring back Zibai and Linnea, while a new Chronicled Wish will feature selected characters from Natlan.

Players can also join a new limited-time event by progressing through the Version 7.2 Archon Quest, with a Quick Start option that lets them jump in sooner. The event will unite allies from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya to contain the Holy Soil phenomenon, tasking players with rescuing wounded soldiers, relaying critical intelligence, and completing urgent assignments.

Rewards include Primogems, enhancement materials, and the chance to invite a four-star character of your choice to your party. The affected area will remain available for exploration after the event ends, allowing players to see the aftermath of the crisis.

Additional activities will include a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan. Meanwhile, Miliastra Wonderland will receive a new masquerade-themed lobby, a free four-star cosmetic set, and expanded components, assets, and features for stage editing.
