Last month, Shine Research and Nacon revealed that their upcoming building sim Architect Life: A House Design Simulator would launch a free Steam demo on February 19, 2025. Today, they shared a sneak preview of what that demo will hold.

Like most demos, this build will feature fewer features than the full game, but the developers have promised there is still plenty to work with. The first thing you’ll want to try out is the preview of the Career Mode.

In the Career Mode first look, you’ll have access to two client missions, each featuring its own unique project requirements and budgets. Free Build Mode will also be available, featuring two different construction lands with which to work.

You’ll have access to all of the house editing tools and selections for both modes and a selection of doors, windows, furniture, and decorations. Plenty of information was also revealed about the full game in Archiblog #5, including what happens at the start of each new project.

At each stage of your career, you’ll have a selection of three different projects that will be determined by your reputation, which you gradually build by successfully completing projects. Make your clients happy, and you’ll unlock access to bigger and more ambitious projects, which in turn open even more options for fine-tuning its height, orientation, how it connects to walls, and the materials you’ll use to build it.

Not only will you oversea its construction, but you’ll also have to step in and deal with the various events and issues that occur in real life builds. This includes everything from meeting deadlines to unexpected weather that could disrupt the project, requiring you to make important decisions to keep everything on schedule.

Once you finish construction, it is time to critique and view your creation in first person. You’ll then meet with your clients and get the results, with their satisfaction based on how well you fulfilled their requests.

Architect Life: A House Design Simulator is currently planned for an early access release on June 5, 2025, on PC (Steam).
