American Truck Simulator developer SCS Software has showcased the first extensive look at gameplay of the upcoming Illinois DLC.
This time around, the developer has opted to reveal the crown jewel of the DLC quite freely, as the 38-minute video showcases a drive to the Prairie State’s largest city, Illinois.
We get to see a variety of vistas before the countryside and small towns are replaced by the majestic skyline of Chicago, providing a good look at what the DLC offers.
You can check it out in the video below.
American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. A beta of update 1.58 has been released a few days ago.
Illinois is likely the next DLC coming after Louisiana, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, Moline, Peoria, Champaign, the prairies, Bloomington, water bodies, and more settlements.
South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, more Truck Stops, and the road network.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria and the Ford F-150), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
