Today, CCC Games outlined its development roadmap for Airport Control 27 for the year ahead and beyond.
The developers plan to expand its air traffic management simulation with level sharing, co-op multiplayer, new airports, additional aircraft types, and more advanced air traffic control systems. The roadmap covers updates planned from the fourth quarter of 2026 through the third quarter of 2027, though the schedule and feature details may change as development progresses.
The first major update is planned for November 2026 and will introduce multi-window mode on Windows, along with support for multiple aircraft liveries. Multi-window mode will allow players to view and interact with the game across several windows, with macOS and Linux support planned for a later date.
Between November and December, Airport Control 27 will also add Steam Workshop integration, letting players share, subscribe to, and play custom levels. The initial release will focus on sharing scenarios, with creation and editing tools and expanded livery support planned to follow.
January 2027 will introduce separate frequencies for tower and ground control sectors, letting busy airports manage radio communications through a system that better reflects real-world operations. The update also adds cargo traffic and additional regional airliners, expanding the variety of aircraft players will need to manage.

February will introduce co-op multiplayer, letting players work together at the same airport while dividing air traffic management responsibilities, with plans to reveal the first release’s supported features before launch. The March update will add unexpected situations, special flights, and additional aircraft types, creating new challenges that require players to make decisions and adjust their traffic-management strategies.
In the second quarter of 2027, these additions will be followed by a new airport, low-visibility and rainy weather conditions, and the first ground service vehicles. Japan is currently the preferred location for the new airport, while the weather additions will introduce relevant air traffic control procedures that require players to adapt to changing conditions.
The third quarter of 2027 is expected to add a second new airport to Airport Control 27, with Europe as the preferred region, though a specific location has not yet been selected. A snowy weather and associated air traffic control procedures is also planned, along with additional general aviation traffic and AI tower control, with the latter allowing artificial intelligence to take over some control responsibilities.
Both planned airports will be free additions to the base game, meaning existing owners will not need to purchase additional content to access them in Airport Control 27. Beyond the scheduled updates, the team is also exploring airport-editing tools that could eventually let players create and share custom airports. This is separate from the planned scenario creation tools for existing airports, and the feature remains in the early stages of development without a confirmed scope or release window.
Voice commands are another feature under consideration, but CCC Games are still testing the underlying technology and haven’t set a reliable release timeframe. The team plans to share more details once it confirms a viable technical approach and establishes a clearer development plan.
Alongside these larger features, monthly updates will continue to deliver smaller additions, quality-of-life improvements, performance refinements, and bug fixes. The developers are also asking players to share feedback on their priorities, the scenario-creation tools they want to see, and the possibilities they want from future airport-editing features.
Airport Control 27 remains in Early Access for Steam on PC. For more information on this and other similar simulators, including plenty of Flight Simulation content, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
