Blindflug Studios has released Major Update 6 for Ground of Aces, adding fires and firefighting, airplane accidents, and the highly-requested air traffic control towers.
There are now several different incidents that can start a fire, including explosions and crashes. Fires will also spread across things like terrain, buildings, other aircraft, and even crew members. Depending on the nearby terrain, fires will spread at different speeds.
Players will have to extinguish fires before they get out of control. Crew members can be assigned to the Fight Fire task in the Crew Management UI. It has its own work priority, and crew members who are assigned to this task will even wake up and respond to any fire-related emergencies.

Players will be able to build an Air Traffic Control Tower and assign crew members to it. There are three variants available: Metal, Brick, and Concrete. Assigned air traffic controllers reduce the chance of airplane accidents by 1% for the aircraft in the tower’s range.
Airplane accidents can also now happen when taking off or landing. Accidents depend on the airstrip tier, the pilot’s flying skill, and the towers in range. There are different kinds of accidents with varying severities that can happen, and they’re determined by the airplane’s health points. These health points are determined by how damaged the aircraft is.
For example, airplanes can overshoot or have wobbly, smoking, or burning landings. When the damaged plane lands, there will be a landing defect, and it’ll need to be repaired again. Players will have a camera follow button to watch the event after it’s logged.
There’s also new transparent cockpit glass, letting players watch their aircrew during these emergencies (and all other times). Last but not least, the last major part of the Ground of Aces Major Update 6 is the new De Vailland Vampire aircraft that’s part of the free Wings of Valor DLC.

There were also plenty of smaller updates and fixes, which players can read about here.
