Version 1.12.1 adds offline tracking, which means that the app will still keep track of your position and landings if your connection happens to drop.

Once the connection is restored, tracking will continue like you never went offline. Of course, you’ll still need the internet to log in and start or end flights.

The update also comes with further improvements and additions, like additional icons for a bunch of aircraft that previously did not have their own, the ability to automatically detect your registration when you create a new aircraft, and more.

You can read the full patch notes below, as published on the developer’s official Discord server.

Enhancements

  • With offline tracking, loss of connection during your flight will no longer cause data to be lost thanks to a new synchronization feature, which saves position data and landing events while you’re offline. Note that logging in, starting or ending flights will still not be possible with an offline client.,
  • Added an option to apply profile customization flight filters on the flights list as well.,
  • Improved highlighted screenshot selection for profile customization with a preview.,
  • Improved synchronization between the replay and flight path chart.,
  • The create new aircraft button on active flights will now prefill registration based on what was detected from the simulator.,
  • The “Add a flight plan” text now says “Edit” if you already have a plan.,
  • Added aircraft icons for: Generic glider (GLID), Cessna 210 (C210), Piper PA-46 (PA46, P46T), Piper PA-28 (P28S), Diamond DA62 (DA62), Cirrus Vision Jet (SF50), Pilatus PC-9 (PC9), Pilatus PC-24 (PC24) Piaggio P.180 Avanti (P180), HondaJet HA-420 (HDJT), Beechcraft Starship (STAR), Mil Mi-8 (MI8), Spitfire (SASP), Jaguar GR1 (JAGR), Panavia Tornado (TOR), Harrier jump jet (HAR), F-14 (F14), F4U Corsair (CORS), F6F Hellcat (HCAT), P-47 Thunderbolt (P47), P-51 Mustang (P51), Dassault Rafale (RFAL), Westland Seaking (S61), Westland Merlin (EH10).,

Fixes

  • Improved profile screenshot gallery performance significantly for users with thousands of uploaded screenshots.,
  • Fixed an issue when viewing another profile would cause two lines of highlighted screenshots to appear while loading.,
  • Fixed flights sometimes being completed while tracking is paused.,
  • Fixed landings being recorded while tracking is paused.,
  • Fixed profile customization exclude mode only taking into account one of the tags instead of all.,
  • Fixed screenshots appearing on the map on initial load when viewing a profile.,
  • Fixed highlighted screenshots numbers missing or being incorrect when filtering screenshots for profile customization.,
  • Fixed startup crash on some Linux environments due to conflicting GTK calls.,
  • Raised the limit on the amount of scenery scanner airports that can be synchronized, preventing discrepancies between the desktop and web clients.,
  • Fixed real-time tracking setting defaulting back to lost focus sometimes, even if it’s set to minimized.,
  • The flight path chart will no longer show parked positions, which improves scaling.

If you’re unfamiliar with Volanta, it’s a flight-tracking application published by Orbx that is free to download, and comes with a growing set of features on top of the basic ability to track your flights.

You can also opt to pay a premium subscription monthly or yearly to unlock even more advanced features like Scheduled pause and more..

Volanta is platform-agnostic, so it’s compatible with all major flight simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, DCS World, Prepar3D, and more.

It’s currently available for PC, iOS, and Android, on top of a handy web browser version, which you can check out without an account to see who’s flying at any given time.
