Today, Koei Tecmo Europe and Team Ninja have announced that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch worldwide on March 4, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox on PC, and Steam, with the game also available day one through Xbox Game Pass.
Alongside the start of pre-orders, Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember offered a closer look at the sequel’s story, characters, combat systems, and expanded environments.
The sequel follows Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which launched in 2023 and has surpassed 8 million worldwide players when combining digital downloads, physical units sold and plays through subscription services. The original game also surpassed 1 million copies sold worldwide shortly after launch, while its total player count reached more than 5 million in 2024.
Set in China in 208 AD following the events of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember follows a protagonist whose village is destroyed by Cao Cao’s forces as they advance toward Jing Province, leaving the region engulfed in war while demons roam freely across the land. Seeking revenge, the protagonist initially joins Liu Bei in his campaign against Cao Cao before traveling to Jiangdong and reuniting with Pang Tong, where the pair work alongside Sun Quan to develop a strategy and prepare to target the Red Cliffs.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember builds on the fast-paced combat of the original with new actions designed to make encounters more acrobatic and dynamic, including Insight Skills that allow players to evade incoming attacks, use the environment to their advantage, launch counterattacks, and shift the momentum of battles when surrounded by enemies.
The game also expands the series with dynamic open fields inspired by major conflicts from the Three Kingdoms period, including the Battle of Changban and the Battle of the Red Cliffs, giving players greater freedom to explore fortresses built into mountains, strongholds hidden within valleys, and other dangerous locations.
Morale will remain an important part of surviving the demon-infested battlefields, while players can recruit enemy officers to their side and weaken opposing forces before major encounters.

These systems give players additional strategic options as they navigate the game’s large-scale battles and decide how to overcome overwhelming opposition. A limited-time Alpha Demo for Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is also now available for players who want an early look at the upcoming adventure.
The limited-time Alpha Demo is available from September 16 through September 30, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox on PC, and Steam. The demo features an in-progress version of the character creation system, online multiplayer for up to three players, and the open field of Changban, where players can fight alongside Liu Bei’s forces against Cao Cao’s pursuing army while encountering demons inspired by legendary Chinese classics.
Players who complete the Alpha Demo will receive the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet as a bonus for use in the full game, while a survey will also be available to gather player feedback. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Season Pass, Season Pass Bonus: Creator God Armor Set, Digital Artbook, Digital Mini Soundtrack, and Shitieshou Hat.
All physical and digital purchases will include the Harvest God Armor Set as an early purchase bonus, while players who pre-order any digital edition by March 4, 2027, will also receive the Creator Goddess Garb set.
