The changes, listed on the application’s Discord Server, include fixes to previously existing issues and quality-of-life enhancements.

On top of that, we get support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 ahead of its release on November 19.

Enhancements

  • Added a setting to make hidden landings disappear completely.
  • Added support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Prepar3D v6.
  • Airport markers on user profiles or when viewing a list of flights will now get smaller when zooming out, to avoid obstructing the lines.
  • ICAO codes are now prioritized when selecting airlines.
  • Added a toggle for marketing consent in settings.
  • Exact coordinates can now be put in the add or suggest airport modal.

Fixes

  • Fixed not being able to connect to X-Plane on some devices.
  • Fixed landing icons sometimes disappearing or appearing below the flight path.
  • Closed airports will no longer be selected when searching for airports or importing via Simbrief, if an open one with the same ICAO code also exists.
  • The line thickness of flights on user profiles is now more proportional.
  • Fixed missing aircraft images when viewing other users’ flights in certain cases.
  • The profile screenshot gallery no longer mixes up photos on the map when sorting them.
  • Edit username and email buttons will always be visible now, not just on hover.
  • Screenshot controls and metadata will now respect screenshot width.I

If you’re unfamiliar with Volanta, it’s a flight-tracking application that you can download for free and published by Orbx. You can also opt into a premium subscription payable monthly or yearly to unlock even more features.

Since it’s platform-agnostic, it’s compatible with major simulators including Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3D, on top of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which was added today even if it’s not publicly out yet.

Volanta is available on PC, iOS, and Android.
