Orbx launched a new feature for its flight tracking application for flight simulators, Volanta: early access to new features.
The feature is reserved for premium subscribers, as mentioned on the app’s official Discord server, and basically does what it says on the tin.
A new toggle should be available in the app’s settings, letting premium users opt into early access. Those who do will get to use the “newest tools, UI updates, and integrations weeks before the general public.”
This provides the developers with a chance to receive feedback on Discord before a feature becomes available for everyone.
If you want to partake, you can find your checklist below.
- Open your Volanta Desktop App.
- Navigate to Settings > Early Access.
- Toggle “Early Access Program” to ON
- Accept the module terms
- Restart the app, you will see a EA tag in the top left to show you are on Early Access.
- Head over to our Discord where the new #early-access channel will now be visible. This will let you participate in the conversation, log issues and provide feedback.
If you’re unfamiliar with Volanta, it’s a flight-tracking application published by Orbx that is free to download and comes with a growing set of features on top of the basic ability to track your flights.
You can also opt to pay a premium subscription monthly or yearly to unlock even more advanced features like Scheduled pause and more.
Volanta is platform-agnostic, so it works with all major flight simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, X-Plane, DCS World, Prepar3D, and more.
It’s currently available for PC, iOS, and Android, on top of a handy web browser version, which you can check out without an account to see who’s flying at any given time.
