Riot Games has revealed the next champion coming to 2XKO, and this time it’s the rogue assassin, Akali.
Akali was one of the members of the Kinkou Order, a clan in Ionia, which she eventually left to become a rogue assassin. She has a variety of weapons in her arsenal, including kunai and a kama that can be connected with a rope and a giant shuriken. She also has a smoke bomb.
In 2XKO, these weapons let her excel in close combat. Her smoke bomb lets her get in the face of her opponent quickly (or, if need be, to flee and reset). Her kit is fast, and she can juggle opponents well.
Riot released a gameplay trailer for Akali, which fans can view below. It shows off her abilities and some of her combos utilizing the weapons discussed above:
While the trailer is centered on gameplay, it also shows some of the interactions with Akali and the other champions, like Yasuo, Darius, and Caitlyn.
Lore-wise, her interactions with Yasuo are interesting because their characters are similar, and it’s not something that’s been explored much by Riot in the past. Akali and Darius also have interesting interactions, as Ionia and Darius’ home, Noxia, are enemies.
Akali is set to join the 2XKO roster on April 7, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
In case you haven’t heard, 2XKO is a tag-team fighting game set in the popular League of Legends universe. It features a variety of champions from the MOBA, including Jinx and Blitzcrank.
