The console wars continue to fade into the past, as Triangle Strategy, originally available only on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Meta Quest, is now officially available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft’s PC store.
The news came during the Xbox broadcast at Gamescom 2025, where Square Enix revealed players can purchase the title on the PlayStation and Microsoft stores for the first time ever. To celebrate the news, a limited-time 30% discount has been applied and will last up until September 3, 2025.
For those that might not have heard of Triangle Strategy, it is a challenging tactics HD-2D series RPG created by Team Asano. In it, players head to Norzelia, a continent locked in an ongoing conflict over salt and iron.
The game follows a conventional turn-based format, but with the addition of concepts like elevation and direction, you can enjoy deeply strategic gameplay that takes even the topography of the battlefield into account. There are multiple ways to both approach and win battles, meaning no two encounters will be the same.
The same can be said for Triangle Strategy’s approach to storytelling as well. Players will face decisions that will impact the direction of the story, determined by the Scales of Conviction, which are voting sections of gameplay where you must not only decide a path of action, but convince your allies that it is the correct course.
Triangle Strategy is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows for $41.99. For more info on the game and plenty of other Gamescom 2025 coverage here, including info on Project Motor Racing and Genshin Impact, be sure to search Simulation Daily.
