Today in Gaming News – September 23, 2024

PlayStation State of Play

Like every day, the gaming industry has delivered interesting news and info about upcoming titles and events.

Since it would be impossible to cover everything with individual articles, Simulation Daily publishes a (ideally daily) roundup, summarizing the most relevant gaming news for your perusal.

Unfortunately, a lot of traveling and events limited our ability to publish this column daily, but we should be able to resume today, which is relevant considering that today marks the beginning of the week of Tokyo Game show, so there will be plenty of news to cover.

Yet, before we get down to business, below you can find links to all the gaming news pieces that were covered by individual articles.

If you’re interested in news specifically about flight simulation, you can also check out our dedicated roundup.

PlayStation State of Play Coming Tomorrow

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that a PlayStation State of Play Broadcast will happen tomorrow, September 24, at 3:00 PM PDT, 6:00 PM EDT, 11:00 PM BST, and midnight CEST. It’ll be already September 25 at 7:00 AM in Japan.

The live show will include news and updates about “more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games” from developers around the world.

This State of Play has replaced Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, which has not been hosted for several years, since the house of PlayStation basically stopped that kind of activity altogether.

Global Farmer Release Date Announced

Aerosoft and Thera Bytes announced the release date of Global Farmer, the farming management simulation that lets you farm basically anywhere on planet Earth thanks to a clever application of the digital twin concept (you can read all about it in our preview).

It’ll release for PC via Steam on October 7.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls Introduces Kenpachi Zaraki

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for its upcoming anime game Bleach Rebirth of Souls. This time around, it focuses on Kenpachi Zaraki one of the most iconic characters of the anime and manga.

The game will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Getting Appropriate “Grim Darkness” Difficulty Mode

Owlcat Games announced that a “grim darkness” mode is coming to its RPG Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader alongside the  Void Shadows expansion.

The mode does pretty much what you expect. It’s an ironman mode that gives you only one save updated when you leave the game, and when you are defeated, the adventure ends (at least in this mode).

Those who manage to complete the game will get a “There Is Only War…” achievement and a special item, the Amulet of the Indomitable Spirit, that restores you to 20% of your maximum wounds if you get killed, once per battle.

Here’s how it’ll work.

It’s worth mentioning that the mode will be released only for PC and in single-player initially, but Owlcat plans to expand to other platforms and co-op at a later time.
