Planet Zoo 2 Animal Spotlight Introduces Long-Tailed Parakeet
Frontier Developments shared a new Animal Spotlight video today to introduce a new animal to Planet Zoo 2. The Long-tailed Parakeet will be making its franchise debut when the game launches on October 13.
The Long-tailed Parakeet, which is native to Southeast Asia, inhabits lowland forests, mangroves, and plantations. It is recognized by its bright green feathers, striking red beak, and long graduated tail. While both male and female Long-tailed Parakeets have vivid green bodies, the males are distinguished by a pink collar and black chin strap. When breeding, these birds typically raise two to four chicks at a time.

Planet Zoo 2 releases on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 13, 2026.

Rhythm Rock Game Sound System Gets Early Access Release Date
Echo Foundry Interactive and Bonus Stage Publishing have announced an Early Access release date for Sound System, a new rhythm game from Guitar Hero developers. Like in Guitar Hero, players will be able to take up the guitar, bass, drums, or vocals to play along to rock songs from established and emerging artists when the game hits Steam Early Access on November 4.
All instruments can be played using mainstream guitar and drum controllers, keyboards, or traditional controllers. There are four difficulty levels to choose from, making the game friendly to both newcomers and veterans alike, as well as both classic and pro modes available. Sound System also features a PulseMap editor, allowing players to make their own note charts for songs.

Sound System will head to Steam Early Access on November 4.
Octopath Traveler I & II Now Available on Nintendo Switch 2
Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are now available to play on Nintendo Switch 2 as of today. Both of the HD-2D RPG adventures feature improved resolution and frame rates that are specially optimized for the console.
For those unfamiliar, Octopath Traveler puts players on an adventure featuring eight distinct characters on journeys ranging from self-discovery to quests for revenge. In Octopath Traveler II, there are eight new characters and stories to experience in a new world independent of the original title.

Next week on October 8, both games will be released on the GOG Store for the first time and will be offered at a discount of 70% off and 60% off, respectively, for the first ten days.
