McDonnell Douglas MD-11 Developer Shares News on PW Engines, Art Update, MSFS 2024 Upgrade Pricing, and More

TFDi Design revealed some information about the futur eof its McDonnell Douglas MD-11. We learn that the previously teased art update will be available at no additional cost for MSFS 2020 users within 60 days.

The Pratt & Whitney Engines are currently being tested and will also come with the art update.

The FS 2024 upgrade will “take full advantage of the new texture streaming format for enhanced visuals and implementing a cabin Level of Detail (LOD) system to minimize performance impact while still delivering incredible detail.”

It’ll cost $5 for existing owners and the price of the aircraft for new purchase will also increase to $74.99.

Lastly, development and dedicated support for the P3D version will end after critical items are fixed. The Extended Simulation Package will come but the art update and the PW engines will not.

The developer explains that since the release of MSFS 2020, P3D users have dropped considerably, so they have decided to focus their resources. P3D users are encouraged to switch to MSFS, where they’ll be able to use the MD-11 with their existing purchase at no additional cost.
