PMDG Puts Boeing 777 Freighter for Microsoft Flight Simulator on Hold and Details 747 Project
PMDG has decided to place the release of the Boeing 777 Freighter on hold while the developer works to get a clear picture of what Microsoft is planning for the transition between MSFS 2022. Once they know what to expect, they’ll communicate their release plans.
In the meantime, the developer is working out a few issues related to the main deck cargo system and testing items such as lighting and cargo door controls.
We also get an update on the 747 project, which will “eventually cover the entire span of the 747 product line.”
The initial entries will be the 747-100 and 747-400, and then the project will grow over time to include variants like the 747SP. PMDG’s contracts with Boeing will also allow them to bring us special mission aircraft like RA001 (the original test-flight aircraft) and Air Force One.
At the top of this post, you can check out a render of the overhead panel.
Rijeka Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Teased
Pilot Experience Sim provided an update on its plans on Discord and teased a new airport. While the developer did not mention it by name, it’s obviously Rijeka Airport (LDRI) in Croatia.
The developer is also working on Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (LFPG), which is “well underway” but not yet ready to show previews.

As a reminder, if we’re interested in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, we have teamed up with the Flight Simulation Association and several journalists and content creators who attended the preview event in Arizona to discuss what we can expect from the sim live later this week.
You’ll be able to tune in live on November 2 at 19:00 UTC (3:00 p.m. EDT, Noon PDT, or 8:00 p.m. CET depending on where you live) and hear our impressions and expectations sparked by what we saw and played back in September.
