The official announcement teaser trailer was shown off earlier today, giving players a three-minute look at the upcoming Expansion Pack. A lot was shown off, including new outfits, pets, and things for Sims to do.

Besides the Sims’ dark academia aesthetics, one of the first things shown was tarot cards. A few Sims played together, hinting that there will be new ways to pass the time.

There will be two new jobs with the Life and Death Expansion Pack: the Reaper Profession and the Undertaker Career.

Sims that have an affinity for the afterlife can work with the Grim Reaper to help Sims die. These Sims will learn how to reap souls, take care of Grim’s weapons, and even investigate the causes of death. They can take souls and bring them back to life.

The Undertaker Career has two paths: Mortician and Funeral Director. These jobs include everything from embalming to grave digging to helping the living with things like funeral services and contemplating their existence.

The death side of the title was prevalent in the addition of funerals and wills. Sims can now peacefully pass on, and their loved ones can inherit their possessions. The loved ones of Sims who have passed on can also experience grief. Other traumatic things will also cause Sims to grieve.

On the flip side, the life part of the title includes bucket lists. These are objectives that Sims will have throughout their life – and death. Playing as your Sim in death will be a new possibility. Ghost Sims have their own bucket lists, powers, and looks.

Additionally, Sims can be reborn if they complete their bucket list. These Sims will have a Burning Soul trait, which unlocks the past life’s Childhood Development Skills, Traits, and Infant Milestones. They may also remember their past known Sims.

There are several new ways for Sims to interact with the afterlife. There’s a new Ghost Historian Aspiration, Ghost Whisperer Reward Trai, Hallowed Grounds Lot Trait, Macade Trait, Chased to Death Trait, and Skeptic Trait. There’s also a Thanatology Skill.

The Sims 4 did explain that the Life and Death Expansion Pack will include the realm of Ravenwood, which has three neighborhoods: Crow’s Crossing, Whispering Glen, and Mourningvale.

The Sims 4 will release more information on October 17 with a gameplay trailer. Until then, players can view the announcement trailer themselves by watching it below:
