Fireshine Games has released the Kindred Spirits update for Tales of Seikyu, bringing plenty of new content to the early access to the fantasy farming sim, like an expanded story, adorable creatures to adopt, a new yokai transformation, more heart events and relationship features, and plenty more.
Since Tales of Seikyu is still in early access, one of the key parts of its updates is the story. The Tales of Seikyu Kindred Spirits update adds new story content, with following the player and their sister, Kon, as they search for their ancestors deeper into the ruins around Seikyu.
With this comes a brand-new yokai transformation, the Yuki-onna. Players can transform into the yokai to float through the air while also controlling frost and snow. Using this form, players will be able to freeze enemies and even the water.
Another new feature focuses on adopting pets. Players can find plenty of adorable creatures around Seikyu, whether it’s in the ruins or around the forest, including cats, aardwolves, and lizards. Now, players can befriend them and bring them home.
This process isn’t as easy as it sounds. Players will need to build up their relationship with them before attempting to bring them home. However, once they’ve been befriended, players can change their name and dress them up in accessories.
That’s not all — there were several updates to the characters and relationship system. Now, there are new heart events for each of the 14 romanceable villagers, along with several of the NPCs, including Kinntarou, Seabert, Prince, Tommy, Theo, and Ivan. Some of the villagers are ready to commit to exclusive relationships, including Musashi, Hephaestus, Liliana, and Nyotengu.
Additionally, there’s a new location to date the bachelors and bachelorettes, Shuten’s Tavern. Additionally, there have been some tweaks to some of the NPC portraits and 3D animations to better show expressions.

That’s not all, either. There’s also a new farmhouse expansion, more dialogue, new NPC rooms, more furniture to buy and craft, additional camera features, new rewards at the fox ruins, and even more. However, the developers want players to discover some of these changes themselves, so players will have to play the game to find them.
Tales of Seikyu is currently available on PC in early access, and Kindred Spirits is available now. An updated roadmap will be released in the near future to update players on what’s still on the way.
