According to the press release, Net Bookings (which you can approximately identify with sales) were $1.47 billion up 2% year-on-year. Net Bookings from recurrent consumer spending (DLC and subscriptions) grew 6% year-on-year and accounted for 81% of total Net Bookings.

The largest contributors to Net Bookings are listed as NBA 2K25 and NBA 2K24, Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, Toon Blast, Match Factory!, Empires & Puzzles, Words With Friends, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, and Toy Blast.

That being said, the company still turned a loss of $297.2 million, while EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was also in the red by -75.5 million.

We hear from Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick, who boasts that Net Bookings were at the top of the company’s predictions while operating reductions surpassed expectations.

“I am pleased to report that we delivered strong second quarter results. Our Net Bookings of $1.47 billion were at the top of our guidance range, driven by the continued success of the Grand Theft Auto and Borderlands franchises, and our operating results surpassed our plans, largely due to a shift in the timing of marketing expenses within the year.

Our execution has been consistent, and our teams continue to make great progress advancing our development pipeline. Accordingly, we are reiterating our fiscal year 2025 Net Bookings guidance range of $5.55 to $5.65 billion, and we are confident that we will achieve sequential increases and record levels of Net Bookings in fiscal years 2026 and 2027.

As we look ahead, we believe that Take-Two remains exceedingly well-positioned for the long-term. Our vision is clear, our talent is unparalleled, and we have one of the strongest portfolios of owned intellectual property in our industry. With many exciting new titles coming in Fiscal 2026 – including Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country – we expect to create long-term value for our shareholders.”

Take-Two also shared the total lifetime sales of its most successful games, with GTA5 outperforming sales expectations during the quarter receiving a big. It has passed 205 million copies shipped.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has now shipped over 435 million units.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has now passed 67 million units shipped. The RDR franchise as a whole has passed 92 million units.

Below you can find a breakdown of the games in development at Take-Two, which doesn’t show significant changes from the previous quarter. Incidentally, Grand Theft Auto VI is still slated for the fall of 2025.

The only big change is the removal of independent games due to the sale of Private Division, which has been announced today. The buyer and sale price are unknown.

Take-2 Pipeline

If you want to compare with historical data, you can check out the results for the previous quarter, announced in August. On top of that, other companies have already announced their latest financial results, including Koei Tecmo, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Konami, Marvelous, Nintendo, and Bandai Namco.
